There was going to be a poll to discuss the Down the Chimney Affair, but I don't want to limit the topics to the questions posed. Instead, the floor is open to discuss ideas for the DtCA: what has or has not worked for you from an author or reader perspective. Obviously not everyone is going to agree with every idea, but if there are commons themes or requests, certainly they can be addressed.

This year the format was expanded quite a lot and many authors took advantage to include images and creatively customize their gifts. Expanding this idea -within reason- is always workable in a small fandom, so ideas in this vein are also welcome.

A couple of weeks ago I asked [livejournal.com profile] sithdragnwhat would be her prompts, hypothetically of
course, if she were to take part in the DtC challenge. This was her reply:

If I were to participate? Hmm, I've never given it any thought. Off the top of my head I'd
ask for a slash story with a lake or ocean, Napoleon with his hair loose (mrowl), and a
beater car.

So, without more ado, here it is…

It comes with hugs and thanks to her for organising yet another fab DtC challenge.

Now, the moment so many of you have been waiting for, the opening of the Top Secret Author Documents.

The Big Reveal! )

Secret Agent Santas, thank you very much for volunteering to craft a personalized story at what is for so many a busy, stressful time of the year. Your hard work is appreciated not only by those for whom you craft your gift, but by everyone who reads your stories. Please feel free to answer your feedback and post your stories outside of [livejournal.com profile] muncle.

Thank you also to everyone who left -or has yet to leave- comments for Down the Chimney Affair stories. Feedback is a gift all unto itself.

Best wishes for a happy and healthy 2009 to all, with hopes that we'll see you all again for next year's exchange!

Needed: one inch hitter for a slash gift in the Down the Chimney Affair exchange. If you think you can write a slash story of 1,000 words by Jan 4, please email me at sithdragn @ livejournal DOT com.

Obviously this means the Down the Chimney Affair reveal will not happen today. I'm currently waiting for one story besides the above needed story. I will post the reveal as soon as everyone in the exchange has received a gift. Thanks for everyone's patience.

ETA: There were several generous offers, and the story has been assigned. I'll keep everyone's name handy, just in case. You are all amazing - thank you.
